Every morning when I wake up, every lunch hour, and every night when I return from work my sweet Cody is waiting to greet me with love and affection. I can't even begin to tell you how much he brightens my day and how often he makes me smile.
Pets make us happier and healthier just by being in our lives.
Research has shown that owning a pet can help lower blood pressure, lessen anxiety, and boost our immunity. Pet owners also have less occurrence of chronic conditions and symptoms of depression. It may be only coincidence, but my blood pressure had improved at my last doctor visit.
Pets also fulfill our social needs, giving us greater self-esteem, and a sense of belongingness and meaningful existence. I can definitely say that Cody puts me in a better mood after a bad or stressful day.
